Edward Bartels

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, December 22, at the Lutheran Church at Graettinger, for Edward Bartels who passed away in the Estherville hospital Sunday, December 19, at the age of 44 years and 11 months. Interment was in the Estherville Cemetery.

Mr. Bartels was born near Charter Oak January 19, 1893. He came to Monona County with his parents in 1900.

About fifteen years ago he was married to Amelia Lippert and they made their home near Ute for about six years, then moving to a farm near Graettinger where they have since made their home.

Mr. Bartels is survived by his wife, one son, Edgar, three daughters, Evelyn, Pauline and Alice, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bartels of Ute, three brothers, Chris and Walter of Ute, and Carl of Charter Oak; three sisters, Mrs. A.E. Engelke of Ute, Mrs. William Engelke of Castana and Mrs. Carl Schnoor of Charter oak.
