Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Soldier Valley Lutheran church for Andrew C. Christensen, farmer living southwest of Ute, who died very suddenly at 3 o’clock Saturday morning, October 30, following a heart attack.

Rev. O.B. Anderson of Onawa officiated at the service and burial was in St. Clair Cemetery at Ute.

Andrew C. Christensen, youngest son of Karen Maria Morgensen and Jens Christian Christensen, was born May 3, 1879, on a farm one mile west of Kimballton, Iowa. He attended the country schools and later worked as a farmer in that vicinity.

On February 5, 1901, he was married in Audubon to Miss Minnie Bramson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bramson of Ute.

Mr. and Mrs. Christensen made their new home in Kimballton where they lived for three years. They came to Ute, where they rented a farm two miles south of Ute, where they remained for five years.

Twenty-seven years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Christensen bought the 120-acre farm where they since made their home. Mr. and Mrs. Christensen were the parents of five children, Vernon of Soldier, Harry of Ute, Marie (Mrs. Wilbur Skow) of Moorhead, Edward of Ute and Elmer, at home.

During his residence in Soldier Township Mr. Christensen served as township trustee, school director and also held an office with the soldier Valley Telephone Company, soon after its organization.

When just a baby, Mr. Christensen was baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, where he was still a member of the church.

Besides his wife and children, Mr. Christensen is survived by ten grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers, Peter of Kimballton, Martin of Houston, Texas, Chris of Elk Point, Mrs. Sena Nelson of Kimballton, Mrs. Carrie Peterson of Chocolate Bayou, Texas and Mrs. Stena Anderson of Audubon.
