Jane Elinor (Grant) Holt, 86, of Soldier, Iowa died Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Soldier Lutheran Church, Soldier, Iowa with Pastor Marsha Smith, officiating. Burial will be in the Soldier Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Soldier, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Jane Elinor was born October 20, 1931 in rural Ute, Iowa the daughter of Vernon John and B. Maxine (Young) Grant.

Jane and Stanley Laverne Holt were united in marriage on May 22, 1949. To this union five children were born, Linda, Deborah, Ronald, Robert, and Peggy.

She was employed by East Monona School as a cook for many years. She was a very active member of the Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, Iowa. For over sixty years Jane was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Jane is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years, Stanley Holt of Mapleton, Iowa; five children, Linda (PK) Koetterheinrich, Deborah Hull, Ronald (Cindy) Holt, Robert (Chris) Holt, and Peggy (David) Adams; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Soukup, and Janette Kelly; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and B. Maxine (Young) Grant; brothers, James Grant, Gerald “Lefty” Grant, Gale Grant, Kenneth Grant, infant brother- John Grant; and son-in-law, Terry Hull.
