David Raymond was born on May 19, 1967, in Onawa, Iowa, to Ronald Alvin and Barbara Ellen (Bielenberg) Fritz.

David was baptized on June 11, 1967 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, IA where he was also confirmed in 1982. He grew up in the Castana, Iowa area and graduated from Maple Valley High School on May 25, 1986 in Mapleton, IA.

David enjoyed farming, bow hunting, animals, raising cattle, and spending time with his family and friends. He worked hard to fulfill his dream of being involved with cattle, and thru this pursuit he met many near and dear friends, who continued to support him. His pride and joy is a bull named “Highway Man”. His love of animals first started from raising hogs, and continued to grow in leaps and bounds over the many years he spent helping on the farm with his mentor/bonus father, Donald W. Masters, Jr., whom David started working for during high school. David’s many friends became his family as his relationships grew, and he accumulated many “special nieces and nephews”, who fondly called him “Uncle Fritzy”. David continuously told people to "relax" or "go with the flow", and thru these words his compassionate heart could be seen. He was an active member of many people’s lives, and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

Survivors include his two sisters, LuAnn (Leon) Parsley of Fremont, NE, Kathy Fritz of Battle Creek, IA; four brothers, Dean (Robin) Fritz of Onawa, IA, Mike Fritz of Sioux City, IA, Brian (Kelly) Fritz of Brighton, CO, Don Fritz of Davenport, IA; friend, Brenda Bills and her children of Gentry, AR; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Alvin and Barbara Ellen (Bielenberg) Fritz; maternal grandparents, Irwin and Eva (Jepsen) Bielenberg; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Elsie (Davis) Fritz; and his mentor/bonus father: Donald W. Masters, Jr. who passed away on July 31, 2017.

Memorials are preferred and may be directed in David's honor to Burgess Hospice in Onawa, Iowa, St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, Iowa, or the March of Dimes.
