Edna K. Jensen, 86, of Soldier, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, Iowa, with Pastor Shari Schwedhelm officiating. Burial will follow in the Jordan Township Cemetery, rural Soldier, Iowa.

Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Edna Kathleen was born on March 28, 1932, in Charter Oak, Iowa the daughter of Henry Leo and Catherine (Brickman) Christiansen. She graduated from Castana High School in 1951.

Edna and Robert Jensen were united in marriage on September 1, 1951, in Onawa. To this union, three children were born: Warren, Kathy, and Jennifer. The couple lived, raised their family, and farmed in the Soldier area. Robert preceded her in death on May 7, 1990.

Edna was a farmer all her life. She was employed at Soldier Meal Site, Castana School, Maple Heights, Elmwood Care Centre, and Cultural Center in Moorhead, IA.

Edna enjoyed animals, ceramics, sewing, gardening, plastic canvas, and 4-H. She especially enjoyed watching "Little House on the Prairie".

Edna was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church and their WELCA. She was also a member of the Jordan Birthday Club.

Survivors include her son, Warren (Barb) Jensen of Soldier, IA; daughter, Kathy (David Kruse) Jensen of Mapleton, IA; grandchildren, Amber (Jason) Warren of Whiting, IA, Christopher (Elizabeth) Jensen of Council Bluffs, IA, Nathan (Molly) Jensen of Sioux City, IA, Meckensie (Clint Harris) Jensen of Moorhead, IA, Aaron (fiance` Catarena Hall) Richardson of Onawa, IA, Evan Richardson of Sioux City, IA, Blake (fiance` Whitney Carrier) Richardson of Blencoe, IA, Sierra Richardson of Sioux City, IA, and Dawson Richardson of Onawa, IA; great-grandchildren, Austin Warren, Jasmine Warren, Nile Jensen, Levi Jensen, Lucas Jensen, baby Jensen due in November, Hailey Jensen, Maelyn Richardson, Elyith Richardson, and Wynter Utterback; sisters, June Otto Samuelson of Moline, IL and Carmen (Red) Lamb of Onawa, IA; and many nieces & nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Jensen; daughter, Jennifer Richardson; her siblings, Bob (Marie) Christiansen, infant brother, Charles Christiansen, Charlotte (Leo) Kendall, Marilyn (Jim) Wallace, Doris (Francis) Berning, Hank (Darlene) Christiansen, and Ronald (Connie) Christiansen; and brother-in-law, Sam Samuelson.
