VIRGIL VERNON MCCALL

Virgil Vernon McCall, 69, Onawa, Iowa, passed away November 5, 1984, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, after a long illness.

He was born December 22,1914, at Moorhead to Samuel C. and Lida Jane Boyce McCall. He farmed near Castana for many years. On April 23, 1979, he was united in marriage to Donna Parsley at Onawa, Iowa. The couple have resided in Onawa for the past five years, where he was an employee of Monona Services in Onawa, and was affiliated with the First Christian Church in Onawa.

Survivors include: his wife, Donna; three brothers, Reuben of Dunlap, William of Castana, and Leland of Mapleton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Flossie in 1947, and two brothers, his twin, David, and Lemeul.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 1984, at the First Christian Church in Onawa with Rev. Jerry Quandt and Rev. Everett E. Epperson officiating. Mrs. Robert Oehler, the organist, accompanied Rev. Quandt who sang "In The Sweet Bye and Bye" and "One Day At A Time".

Bearers were Pat Tate, Greg O'Connor, Roger McCall, Eugene Melby, Dennis McCall and Paul Parr.

Interment was in Jordan Township Cemetery at Soldier, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
