LITTLE SIOUX, Iowa -- Joy M. "Babe" Hall, 86, of Onawa, Iowa, formerly of Little Sioux, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with the Rev. Dennis Olson officiating. Burial will be in Little Sioux Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Joy M. Hall was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, the son of John and Katherine (South) Hall. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in the Philippines during World War II.

He married Fern Wallace on Oct. 12, 1940. He was employed for many years at the Farmer's Co-op in Little Sioux. Fern passed away May 4, 1995.

He enjoyed pheasant hunting.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Monty Swain and his family of Sioux Falls, S.D., Shawn Swain and his family and Ginger Swain and her family, all of Oklahoma; and a son-in-law, Jerry Swain of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern; a daughter, Dorothy Swain; and two brothers, Donald and Jack Hall.
