ALBATON, Iowa -- Rev. Earl O. Miller, 70, of Albaton died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Skien Lutheran Church in Albaton, with the Rev. Ron McClung officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Albaton at a later date. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Earl was born Oct. 26, 1934, at Lakeview, Mich., the son of Raymond and Hazel (Strang) Miller. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1952 and continued his education in ministry.

He married Beverly J. Madsen on Aug. 31, 1957, at Wheatland, N.D. The couple were blessed with a daughter and four sons.

Earl graduated from CEI Bible College at Oskaloosa, Iowa in 1959 and served as minister 45 years in the Iowa Minnesota District; five years at Emmanuel, LaPorte City, Iowa; five years at Guthrie Center Wesleyan, Guthrie Center, Iowa; 15 years at Roslyn Park Wesleyan, Fridley, Minn. and 20 years at Albaton Wesleyan, Albaton.

Earl enjoyed gardening and for many years has held biannual pancake breakfasts for all the farmers in the Albaton area. He was a very active and supportive community member.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of Albaton; his children, Kristina and Dan Bester of Coon Rapids, Minn., Steven and Melinda of Fridley, Minn., Becky Miller of Lino Lakes, Minn., Alan and Michele of Lino Lakes and Kevin and Ingrid of Arendal, Norway; 14 grandchildren, Jared Bester, Nathan, Johnny, Amy, Katie, Miranda, Marshall, Mitchel, Malorie, Madalyn, David, Harald, Victoria and Beverly Miller; a brother, Donald and Barbara of Burton, Mich.; a sister, Ruth and Bill Behrenwald of Lake City, Fla.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud and Marilyn McLean of Wheatland, N.D. and Leslie and Ruth Madsen of Mt. Dora, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Curtis; and a brother, Everett Miller.

He was incredibly wealthy in friends. He loved the Lord dearly and shared this love with others all of his life. He's walking streets of gold now with his Lord and those that went before him. We will miss him terribly.
