Lee E. Heck Lee E. Heck, age 75. of Battle Creek, Iowa, died on Thursday, March 10, 1988, in a hospital in Onawa, Iowa. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14. 1988, at the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa, with the Reverend Gary DeGeest officiating. Burial was in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery at Smithland, Iowa. Visitation was after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. March 13. 1988, at the funeral home.

Mr. Heck was born on November 20. 1912, to William L. and Maggie (Woodard) Heck at Shirley, Illinois. He moved with his parents to Grant Center in 1916. He married Vera M. Ferdig on August 21. 1937. at Elk Point. South Dakota. After their marriage, they moved to Mapleton. Iowa, where they operated a grocery store. He later worked for the Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul Pacific Railroad for several years. In 1954, they moved to Rodney, Iowa. She died on September 17, 1980. After the death of his wife, he moved to Battle Creek, Iowa. He was active with the senior citizens in Rodney, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, his wife, one son. Larry: one brother, and two sisters.

Survivors include his mother, Maggie of Princeton, Missouri; two brothers, Orville of Princeton, Missouri, and Harold of Lake Lillian, Minnesota; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Allan Heck, Harold Heck. Jr., Bill Heck. Bill Hagerdon, Perry Heck, Tom Heck. David Heck, and Jan Hewitt.
