Dorothy Jean Archer, 84, of Sioux City died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunnybrook Community Church, with the Rev. Jeff Moes officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Dorothy was born Nov. 10, 1922, at Blencoe, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd A. and Olga A. (Howschultz) Noble. She graduated from Blencoe High School in 1941 and later from Stewart's School of Cosmetology of Sioux City in 1964.

Dorothy married Clarence Daniel Archer on Jan. 1, 1942, in South Sioux City. Clarence passed away Aug. 17, 1996, in Sioux City. They had been residents of Sioux City since 1945. She was employed by Armour & Co. from 1952 to 1963. Dorothy was loved by her friends and family and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include a son, Tom Archer and his wife, Cheryl of Sioux City; two grandsons, Kevin Archer and his wife, Shelly and Steve Archer; three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Madison and Zachery Archer.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Merle Noble.

Pallbearers will be Steve Archer, Kevin Archer, Phil Kirwan, Jim Loucks, Bob Jaynes and Jack Fulton.
