Eugene E. "Gene" Martindale, 85, of Turin, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Onawa United Methodist Church in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Tim Cramer officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., followed by a Masonic service at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Martindale of Turin; his children, Susan (Dick) Bellis of Blencoe, Iowa, Rick (Carla) Martindale of Springfield, Neb., Betty Jean Abrams of Blencoe, and Gary Martindale of Soldier, Iowa; his grandchildren, Clint (Amy) Walker, Tracey (Trevor) Miller, Neal (Jen) Raymond, Curtis (Stephanie) Martindale, Isaac (Amy) Martindale, Amber (Brent) Griffith, Mindy (Travis) Menish and Rosie Martindale; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene Sargent of Omaha; sisters-in-law, Doris Martindale of Fremont, Neb., and Sharon Burnsides of Omaha; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
