Patricia A. "Pat" Larson, 74, of Onawa, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, in Merrill, Iowa, with her family by her side, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Pat was born on Aug. 24, 1942, in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Jane (Morgan) Jacobe. She graduated from Hawarden High School.

She married Robert James Larson on May 6, 1977, in Sioux City.

Pat worked at Zenith, Standard Ball Bearings, and PTT/PTI call center. She later became a CNA and worked at Elmwood Care Center in Onawa, and last at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting. Pat retired to be a loyal and loving caregiver to her husband before he passed away in April of 2008.

Pat loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She looked forward to being outdoors and enjoying nature. She also enjoyed going on car rides in the Loess Hills and around Blue Lake in Onawa. Pat was talented at crocheting and writing poetry. Her poems were inspired by simple pleasures and family life.

Pat was a woman of faith with a selfless nature. She supported many charitable organizations; amongst others, The Christian Worship Hour, Iowa Public Television, Boys Town, as well as a multitude of disabled veterans organizations and other charities that contributed to a better life for others.

Pat was an Iowa Hawkeye fan and would rarely miss a football or basketball game.

Survivors include her son, Jim Larson and his wife, Angela, and their children, Luke and Reed of Merrill, Iowa; sister, Linda Fitzgerald of Sioux City; brothers, Bob and Frank Jacobe of Hawarden, Iowa; friend and neighbor, Marie Laughlin; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
