Don Crosgrove, 80, of Modale, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at his daughter's home in Hinton, Iowa.

Memorial services were held July 10 at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date.

Don was born on Feb. 11, 1937, to Joel and Ethel (Jensen) Crosgrove, in Onawa. He graduated from the Onawa High School. He then attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo.

Don was married to Joanna M. Zortman on Feb. 22, 1958. Don taught English, science and history for several years. He then went to work for Freuhauf as a draftsmen engineer for 32 years. Joanna passed away on May 20, 2008.

Don was very active with Church of Christ in Modale, serving as an elder. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Don is survived by his son, Chris Crosgrove and wife, Carla, of Lincoln, Neb.; daughter, Lori Newberg and husband, Eric of Hinton, Iowa; brothers, Ray Crosgrove of Marathon, Iowa, and James Crosgrove of Jackson, Neb.; and five grandchildren.
