Mapleton Press
17 April 1913

Millie Bouslaugh was born to Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Bouslaugh at the family home in Center Township, Sept. 24, 1884. She has always lived in Center with the exception of a brief time spent in Colorado in hopes of improving her health.

She was married to Erving Smothers Oct. 1, 1903. To this union four children were born, one little babe having passed away about a year ago.

She has been afflicted with lung and stomach trouble for years, but has always been patient, kind and good, bearing her suffering with such gentle forbearance that she always had a pleasant smile and kind 'word for all.

When she was told that the end was near, she looked up to her loved ones at her bedside with a smile, and quietly gave directions for her funeral and burial, kissed her loved ones good bye and quietly fell asleep. Her suffering has been so intense for many months that death was welcomed as a happy release.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death a husband, mother, three sisters, six brothers one little daughter, Sylvia and two little sons, Alvie and Ervie.

She passed out of this life on April 13, 1913 at the age of 28 years. As she was extensively known, many friends gathered to extend sympathy to the family and pay their last respect to a respected friend.

Funeral services were held at the family homo Wednesday, at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. C. M., Perrin. The body rests in Center Cemetery.
