Willis "Buck" Brink, 93, of Onawa, Iowa died Friday, February 24, 2017 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Dennis Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Marine Corps, the David McNeill American Legion Post #129 of Onawa, and the Monona County VFW Post #2694. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Willis "Buck" Brink was born September 5, 1923 in rural Castana, Iowa to Chris and Mabel (Strait) Brink. He attended school in Castana. He began working at a lumber yard at age 14, and then joined the United States Marine Corps in January of 1943. He served until his honorable discharge in November of 1945.

Buck married Virginia Bellis on October 30, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple farmed for nine years before moving to Onawa in 1956. He worked for Yost and Sorenson Tire Shop in Onawa for a few years, and then for the State Highway Department until his retirement in 1986. After retirement, he helped out on local farms for several years.

He was a member of the David McNeill American Legion Post #129 and of the First Christian Church, both in Onawa. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and dancing.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Virginia Brink of Onawa, IA; one daughter, Christine Griffith of Pierce, NE; one son, David (Gloria) Brink of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Ross, Willis (Reina) Griffith, Heather (Jon) Rennerfeldt, and Abby (Brent) Kieselhorst; two step-grandchildren, Michael (Mary) Griffith and Melissa (Victor) Lopez; five great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Hunter Rennerfeldt, Derek and Hallie Ross, and Mercy Griffith; two step-great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Jamie Liddy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Mabel Brink; five brothers, Rollie, Bud, Bill, Clarence, and Chris Brink; and four sisters, Pearl Brink (in infancy), Lydia Brink, Ruby Phipps, and Opal Bueter.
