Norman P. Martindale, 60, Onawa, Iowa died unexpectedly Sunday, May 14, 2006 at his home.

Norman Paul was born September 14, 1945 at Onawa, the son of Clemens and Audrey (Chedester) Martindale. He was raised in the Onawa area.

He has shared his life with a spouse, Sandy Simpson since 1983. Norman worked as foreman for Nelson and Rock Construction for 33 years. He was a member of the Onawa Eagles Lodge #2270. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with his family and friends. Norman was very proud of his Cub tractors.

Survivors include spouse, Sandy Simpson; his mother, Audrey Martindale of Onawa; three sons, Randy and his wife Kari Martindale of Story City, Iowa, Jeff and his wife Cheryl Martindale of Dover, Delaware, and Casey Simpson of Onawa; one granddaughter, Madison Martindale; mother-in-law, Lillian Whitehorn of Onawa; Cousins, Gene and Betty Martindale of Turin, IA., Richard Martindale and Marlene Sergeant both of Omaha, NE., and Glen and Dons Martindale of Fremont, NE; five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral Services were 10:30 AM Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Rush Family Chapel with Pastor Steven Hetzel officiating. Music selections were "Wind Beneath my Wings" and "Daddy's Hands". Burial was in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation was 4:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at Rush Family Chapel.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.

Casket bearers were Wayne Rock, Joe Martindale, Gary Martindale, Roger Anderson, Dave Watson, and Mike Christiansen. Honorary bearers were Norman's Family and Friends.
