Family and friends remember Haubrich Const, employee

Clyde Andrew Hinrickson, age 85, of Mapleton, Iowa, died suddenly at his home Monday, July 1, 2002.

Clyde was born February 19, 1917 in Crawford County, Iowa, the son of John and Augusta (Dadt) Hinrickson. He was married to Maxine Elizabeth Hanks August 29, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple lived in the Castana area and then in Mapleton until his death. He worked for Haubrich Construction for 28 years before working for his son, Charles John as a mason and general laborer.

Left to cherish his many memories are his wife, Maxine; seven children, Mary Ann Schmidt of Beresford, South Dakota, Maxine Elizabeth Shipley and her special friend, Dick Hoselton of Hastings, Iowa, Pearl Elaine and her husband, Richard Baker of Onawa, Ruby "Bobbie" Kay and her husband, Robert Frank of Vermillion, South Dakota, Andrew Clyde and his special friend, Nevada of Danbury, Iowa, Charles John and his special friend, Jean of Castana and Ronald LeRoy of Onawa, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great- grandchildren; a sister, Jane Meyer; four brothers, William and his wife, George, Albert and his wife and Richard and his wife; a sister-in-law, Arleen Hinrickson; two daughters-in-law, Liz Walczak and Georgia Hinrickson and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lester Dean; two daughters-in-law, Peggy and Jolene; three sons-in-law, Rueben Schmidt, Ronald Shipley and Ray Ely; two sisters, Gertrude Ely and Doris Morgan; five brothers, Leslie, Louie, David, Charles and Johnny.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2002, at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Bob Fritzmeier officiating. Special music was "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" provided by Darren Goslar, soloist and Mardelle Brown, organist. Burial was in Jordan Township Cemetery in Soldier, Iowa.

Casket-bearers were six of his grandsons, Clyde, Mark, Scott, Buzz and Stanley Hinrickson and Todd Berg. Visitation was 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 4 at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
