Claude Franklin Havick, Jr., died peacefully in Gretna, Neb., on July 20, at the age of 71, after a long illness and stroke.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Scott Havick; son-in-law, Joe Lange.

He is survived by his four children: Traci (Mike) Jorgensen of Papillion, Neb., Staci (David) Hubert of Gretna, Neb., Julie Lange and Ryan Havick, both of Omaha, Neb.; three siblings: Curt (Dee) Havick of Mapleton, Cheryl Bryan of Albuquerque, N.M., and stepbrother, Gene (JoAnn) Nelson of Whittier, Calif.; grandchildren: Trevor and Tatum Jorgensen, Brandon (Courtney), Nathan, and Brooke Hubert, Kami (Josh Wessel) and Kody Barber; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Easton, and Gracelynn Wessel.

Claude was born on July 28, 1944, in Harlan, to Claude F. Havick, Sr., and Inez (Stephenson) Havick. He graduated from Maple Valley Community High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1969.

Claude was a part of the 5th Infantry Division in the Army National Guard and was stationed at Fort Carson, Colo. He was married to Barbara (Simpson) in 1968 and had four children. He worked in various banking institutions in Iowa, including Sioux City, Onawa, and Williams, and finished up his banking career in Casey and Stuart.

Memorial Service: Friday, July 29, at 1 p.m. at the Bel Air Chapel of Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler, 12100 W. Center Road in Omaha. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Claude Havick, Jr’s life.
