Tillie A. Jensen, Onawa, Iowa, died on Tuesday, July 1, 1986, at Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek. Death came at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 8 days.

She was born at Burwell, Nebraska on March 23, 1911 to Louis and Anna (Vyneer) Cerney. She married Niels W. Jensen on August 27, 1930, in Overton, Nebraska. The couple lived at Council Bluffs prior to moving to Castana in 1949 where they farmed. In 1968 they moved to Onawa and owned and operated Jensen’s Greenhouse for five years. They have resided at Willow Dale Care Center for the past two years.

Survivors include her husband, Niels, a daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Janice) Castle of Mapleton, Iowa, two brothers, Ernest Cerny of Arthur, Nebraska and Louis Cerny of Ogalala, Nebraska, a sister, Mrs. Bill (Bernice) Leadebrand of Ogalala, three grandsons and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Lola June and a son Ronald Dale Jensen, a brother, Otto and a sister, Ella.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 1986, at Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The organist was Mrs. Vince Phillips and the soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson, sang, “How Great Thou Art” and “In The Garden”

Casket bearers were Arthur Castle, Cal Fister, Wilbur Phipps, Ralph Phipps, Bob Fitzpatrick and James Castle.
