Services for Clyde “Johnny” Johnson, 80, Winterset, who died June 2, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset, Wednesday, June 4, with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born April 23, 1906 at Rutland, Ohio, he was the son of James and Rachel Wise Johnson. He was a retired manager of the Winterset Northwestern Bell office and was a resident of Winterset since 1953.

He was an elder at one time of the Winterset Presbyterian Church, and was married to Marjorie Buntz June 8, 1940 at Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Whiting High School, Whiting, Iowa, attended Business College in Sioux City and joined Northwestern Bell in 1929. He was a past president of the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
