Harry W. Carlson, 84, Dunlap, Iowa, formerly of Moorhead died June 16, 1986, at the Community Memorial Hospital, Missouri Valley, Iowa, after a long illness.
He was born October 2, 1901 in Sioux Township, Monona County, Iowa, to Nels and Sena (Johnson) Carlson. On April 12, 1924, he married Blanche B. Riedeman at Onawa. The couple farmed near Moorhead for many years until they retired to Orlando, Florida, where they lived for 17 years. In November 1982, they moved to the Dunlap Care Center. Mrs. Carlson died January 29, 1985, in Dunlap.
He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead.
Survivors include; one son, Gary of Moorhead; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 1986, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead, Iowa, with Rev. Paul Birkedal officiating. The organist, Mrs. Charles Kratz, played, “Beautiful Savior” and “Praise and Thanksgiving.”
Casket bearers were Darrell VanNess, Wallace Losh, Robert Halverson, Don Thoreson, Curtiss Nepper and Duane Fredrickson.
Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
