12 June 1986Hisako Conway, Onawa, Iowa, died on June 2, 1986, at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City following a brief illness. Death came at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 4 days.
She was born in Kumamato, Japan, on December 28, 1931. Her parents were Hediko and Kimako Mori. On November 2, 1955, she was married to Gordon Conway in Fukoko, Japan. The couple moved to California in 1956 and have resided in Onawa since December 1957. She owned Sasebo Hobby Shop in Onawa and had been a housekeeper at the Pearson Funeral Home for the past ten years.
Hisako was a member of the First Christian Church, Circle 3 of the church, Burgess Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and David McNeill Post No. 129 American Legion Auxiliary, all of Onawa.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon; a son, Morri Conway, of Sioux City; a daughter, Maria Conway of Onawa; a brother, Hesow, and a sister, Sinahe, both of Kumamato, Japan; and her father, Hedika Mori of Kumamato.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 1986, at the First Christian Church in Onawa with Rev. Jerry Quandt and Rev Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs. Robert Oehler, the organist, played "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset".
Bearers were George Hudspeth, Kevin Gregerson, Lyle Freerking, Gerald Shaffer, Jesse Guerra and Larry Parks.
Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
