12 June 1986Anna I. Hansen, 86, Onawa, Iowa, died June 3, 1986, at Elmwood Nursing Home in Onawa.
She was born at Orange City, Iowa, on October 2, 1899, the daughter of Gerritt and Elizabeth Hiendyk. She was married to Hans L. Hansen on February 2, 1917, in Vermillion, South Dakota.
The couple farmed in Charter Oak and later lived in Lawton for many years. They lived in Anthon before moving to Onawa in 1946. Mr. Hansen died September 26, 1955, in Sioux City.
Anna was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and an honored member of the Martha Circle of the Faith Lutheran ALCW and she was a member of David McNeill Post 129 American Legion Auxiliary, all of Onawa.
Survivors include three sons, Jack of Lafayette, La.; Robert of Simonton, Texas; and Cliff of LeMars, Ia.; three daughters, Mrs. Bert (Lue) Heinse of Anthon, Mrs. Gene (Betty) Barth of Correctionville and Grace Fouts of Onawa; a brother, Case Hiendyk of Sheldon; two sisters, Mrs. Cobie Graff of Huron Lake, Minn., and Mrs. Bessie Graff of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Helen Hartz, and four brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 1986, at Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Quentin Quanbeck officiating. The organist was Mrs. Steven Johnson and the soloist, Mrs. Larry Warren, sang, "Rock Of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
Casket bearers were Keith Heinse, Bill Barth, Cliff Hansen, Jr., Russell Hansen, James Fouts and Brian Barth.
Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
