Corinne M. Sherman, 72, Indio, California, a former Onawa resident, died January 21,1986, at a Rancho Mirage, California Hospital following a one-year illness.

She was born May 14, 1913, at Dubuque, Iowa, to Frank and Margret Jilleson. On March 12, 1955, she married McNeill Sherman in Wisconsin. They lived on McNeill farm until they retired in 1974. The couple then divided their time between Iowa and California. Connie, as she was known by her friends, loved to play golf and they were members of the Onawa Country Club at one time. They were also members of the Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert and was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include: her husband, McNeill Sherman; one son, Ronald Dixon of Poway, Calif.; one step-daughter, Mary Auffhammer of Alpine, Utah; one sister, Mrs. Donald Bandy of Dubuque; three grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

A Memorial Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 1986, at St. John's Catholic Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Father Donald Smith officiating. The organist was Mrs. Darrell Hewitt.

A Rosary was held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 1986, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
