William Everett Fletcher

William Everett Fletcher was born 1Aug1834 in New York NY and died in Onawa IA 14Jun1916 aged 81 years.

He served in the Civil War and some of his comrads were present at his funeral. Mr. Fletcher was a member of the G.A.R. belonging to the General Steel Post #94 of Custer SD.

26Apr1875 he was united in marriage to Fannie M. Butler who survives him with many friends to mourn his death.

After the war was over he started in business in Omaha NE. At the end of 16 years he moved to Custer SD to look after mining interests at that place. Ten years ago he moved to Onawa where Mrs. Fletcher was called to care for her invalid mother.

The funeral services were conducted from their home near Onawa by C.R. Moore, minister of the Christian church. The body was laid to rest in the Onawa cemetery in the Soldiers' square, near the monument erected in honor of our veterans.
