Lynn Holsclaw, 85, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday, February 17th at his home. In accordance with his family wishes, his remains were cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at the Jefferson V.F.W. Hall on Wednesday, February 23rd starting at 5:00 p.m. where a light lunch will be served. No other services or visitation will be held. Burial will be made in the Jefferson City Cemetery.

Lynn was the son of Owen and Rosa (Mathison) Holsclaw and was born May 5, 1930 at Onawa, Iowa. He graduated from the Onawa High School in 1948. He worked in a grocery store in Onawa for two year before entering the U.S. Army in September of 1950. He received his discharge in June of 1952. Lynn came to Jefferson in 1961. Lynn worked and managed Safeway Grocery Store for 30 years. He later worked as a car salesman for Greene County Motors and Podlesak Motors for many years before starting his own car lot. Lynn was married to Sarah (Rowe) (Nance) on November 1, 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah, three children; Karen (Steve) Shultz of Onawa, Brian Holsclaw of Des Moines and Kathy Blackford of Des Moines, four step-sons; David (Terry) Nance of Denton, TX., Scott Nance of Jefferson, Russell (Vickie) Nance Woodward, and Randy (Lisa) Nance of Henderson, NE., 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Agnetta Holsclaw of Onawa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Martin, a brother Ernest Holsclaw and two sisters, Margaret Donahue and Winifred Thomson
