Delno Charles Reed, son of Lester and Jessie Reed, died Saturday, August 8, 1970, after a long illness at the Bennett Nursing Home at Turin, Iowa. He had reached the age of 58 years, 11 days.

Delno was born July 27, 1902 near Mapleton and lived with his parents until he took up farming. He became ill and spent many years in the hospital and the last seven years in a nursing home.

He was baptized in the Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Woodmen of the World Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Cregor (Lettie) Schoenherr of Mapleton and Mrs. Elmer (Nelsena) Noakes of Sioux City; one brother, Glenn Reed of Sioux City.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., August 11, at the Walter Funeral Home, Mapleton. The Rev. Walter Enstrom officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Don Jacobson, Dale Jacobson, F.L. Hedrick, Walter Baol, Adrian Dean, Al Bruning.
