Bernadine E. Greenough, 70, of Moorhead, Iowa, died Sunday, April 21, 1991, at the home of her daughter in Sioux City after a long illness.

She was born September 5, 1920, in Soldier, Iowa to Edward and Eila (Hanson) Tollufson. In 1936 she graduated from Soldier High School. On February 20, 1938, she graduated from Soldier High School. On February 20, 1938, she married Walter E. Greenough in Soldier. The couple farmed in the Soldier and Moorhead area. Mr. Greenough died July 20, 1967, in Sioux City. She was a clerk for a number of years at Dettermans IGA and at the McCall Sale Barn and Pryor Sale Barn in Moorhead. The Hoffman Agency was located in her home for 20 years.

Mrs. Greenough was baptized and confirmed in the Soldier Lutheran Church, and was an active member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead.

Survivors include; 1 son, Randy and his wife, Carolyn, of Onawa; 1 daughter, Katherine, and her husband, Earl Larson, of Sioux City; 1 granddaughter, Julie Larson of Sioux City and several other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant sister in 1918.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 1991, at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead with Rev. Steven J. Solberg officiating and Marcia Solberg, associate in Ministry. Conni Anderson, organist, accompanied the duet, Janice Smith and Lisa Johnson, in the selection “The Old Rugged Cross.” The congregation sang, “He Leadeth Me”; “Oh Blessed Thought” and “Thine Is The Glory.”

Bearers were Leonard Hanson, Bob Loyd, Bernard Benson, DeWayne Mesenbrink, Loren Strait and Larry Bean.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Mapleton, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Soldier.

A memorial has been established in her name with Hospice of Siouxland.
