MOORHEAD, Iowa | Gladys Gardner, 86, of Woodbine, Iowa, formerly of Moorhead, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Gardner was born on Dec. 18, 1929, to Marguerite (Michael) and Edward Barnes, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was raised on a farm near Logan, Iowa, in the Hardscratch area.

Gladys married Dale Gardner. The couple farmed near Moorhead. Dale died on Jan. 5, 1993. Gladys moved to Woodbine in 2013.

Gladys enjoyed reading romance novels, cooking and traveling. She also enjoyed going to the Grand Ole Opry. Gladys loved her family and going to eat at the Feed Bunk in Moorhead. She also enjoyed working on the crossword puzzles at the Feed Bunk. Gladys enjoyed volunteering her time at Moorhead Welcome Center.

Gladys is survived by four siblings, Shirley Cullifer of Norfolk, Va., Bonnie Worley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Beverly Zoll of Omaha, and Norman (Chris) Barnes of Omaha; and nieces and nephews.
