FORMER PUBLISHER DIES IN SIOUX CITY

John H. Jones, One Time Editor of Old Onawa Gazette and Ute Independent, Answers "30"

John H. Jones died Tuesday at the home of his son Mark X. Jones 3736, 6th. Ave., in Sioux City, Tuesday and funeral services were held today at 1 o’clock and burial was made in the Onawa Cemetery. Mr. Jones was born at Brantsewood, Ont. Canada, January 20, 1859 and was 71 years old at the time of his death. He lived in Detroit while a young man and later moved to Onawa, where he was engaged in the printing business, being at one time editor of the old Onawa Gazette and also of the Ute Independent.

Mr. Jones moved to Sioux City in 1896 and became an employee of the Sioux City Journal working in the job printing and Linotype departments. For the last few years he has been connected with a printing concern.

Five brothers and a sister and a son survive the dead man. His brothers are E. G. Jones of Moorhead, James and F. O. Jones of Sioux City, Wallace Jones of Paris, Texas and F. D. Jones at Onawa. His sister is Mrs. Lucinda Sain of San Jose, Calif. and the son Mark. X. Jones of Sioux City.
