Olga Mellum Davis

Olga Mellum daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Mellum was born at Soldier, la., Feb. 2, 1901 and died at her home south of Turin Feb. 23, 1930, age 29 years and 21 days. Her entire life was lived in Monona County. She was united in marriage to Carl Davis, November 19, 1917, to which union were born two children; Merle aged 12 and an Infant child which was born but a few hours before his mother's death.

Mrs. Davis was confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran church at Soldier in early life and remained a member of the same as well as a worker in the Methodist Church at Turin until the time of her death.

Besides her husband and two children, the near relatives who are left to survive her are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mellum, three brothers, Anton of Cherokee, Arthur of Pender, Nebr., and Sever of Ute, also four sisters, Mrs. G. O. Smith of Salix; Mrs. Fred Kermine of Arion; Mrs. Ted Schaffer of Moorhead and Mrs. Tony Chamberlin of Ute. Besides being missed in her home and among relatives, she will be missed by the many who have known her in the community.

Funeral services were held from the Turin church Tuesday afternoon with the Brown Funeral Directors of Onawa in charge and Rev. Wm. Zabilka pastor of the Methodist church at Onawa as officiating minister. Interment was made in the Belvidere cemetery.
