Lavina E Bay was born in Kansas July 24th, 1856 and died at her home in Onawa February 13, 1930 age 73 yrs, 6 mos., 19 days. She came to Iowa with her parents when a small child and the rest of her life has been spent in this state. Her many years of life have given her all the experience and hardships of a pioneer.

She was united in marriage to I. N. Fouts Jan. 1, 1874 at Loveland, Iowa. To this union were born eight children, three having preceded her in death. Those remaining are Clarence of Onawa, John of Dunlap, Mrs. Allen Hartford of Valley, Nebr., Mrs. Walter Barsby of Moorhead and Mrs. Harry Barsby of Rosalie, Nebr. Mrs. Fouts united with the Christian church when 20 years of age and was an active member of the same as long as her health permitted. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, also three sisters and many close friends.

The funeral services were, held last Saturday with the Barnard Funeral Directors in charge. A short service was held at the home at noon with Rev. Wm. Zabilka officiating, the body was taken to Woodbine where a further service was held at the Christian Church with Rev. Sutton, the pastor officiating and interment made in the Woodbine Cemetery.

It knows a hope that speaks in Mother's Prayers."
