Eliza Smith Died 1930

Mrs. Eliza Smith, mother of Mrs. G. W. Sedam of Mapleton, died Saturday at the Sedam home after an illness dating from Nov. 1 when she had a paralytic stroke.

Mrs. Smith was the widow of Joseph Smith and came with her husband to a farm near Ute in early, times, residing there for many years. Upon retiring from the farm they moved to Mapleton where they made their home until the death of Mr. Smith about 12 years ago, since which time she has resided at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sedam.

Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Christian church in Mapleton, Rev. Conrad of Cherokee having charge of the services. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

She is survived by the following sons and daughters, H.H. Smith, Sioux City, Luther Smith, Billings, Montana, Austin Smith, Miller, S.D., Frank Smith, Los Angeles; Mrs. Wealthy Dorothy of Englewood, California and Mrs. G.W. Sedam of Mapleton.
