Mrs. Ruth Scott Voss

Ruth Pleasant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adebert Scott was born at Hillsdale, Iowa September 14, 1898 and died at Cherokee, Feb. 6, 1930, age 31 years, 4 mos. 22 days.

Most of her life was spent in Mills county, Iowa, until about five years ago when she came to make her home with her parents, about 4 miles east of Onawa. She had suffered intense pain and to better care for her, she was taken to the state hospital at Cherokee, June 20, of last year.

She was united in marriage to Florence Voss, Feb. 21, 1918 to which union were born four children, Devon age 11, Durard age 9, Donavon ago 8 and Rosaline age 5. She united with the Baptist church early in life and always remained true to her faith.

Besides her own family she leaves to mourn her death her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott, three brothers, Ival of Onawa, John and Seth at home, five sisters, Loucette Shannon of Turin, Pearl Shaw of Henderson, Iowa, Goldie Schaffer and Fay Cartmill of Blencoe and Annetta at home, also an aged granddaughter, Mrs. Sarah E. Scott of Glenwood, Iowa.

Funeral services were held from the home last Saturday morning with the Bernard Funeral Director in charge and Rev. William Zabilka officiating minister. The body was shipped to Glenwood, Iowa for further services and burial.
