Mrs. Emma Elora Pember, the daughter Mr. and Mrs. M J. Smith and the widowed wife of the late David A. Pember was born at Amity, New York Sept. 17, 1854 and died at her home in Onawa January 23, 1930, age 75 years, 4 months and 6 days.

Mrs. Pember when a girl came west with her parents and lived for a time in Wisconsin, then later moved to lowa. She was married to David A. Pember of Onawa, January 18, 1884, Mr. Pember having passed away on November 5, 1929.

She was a member of the G. A R. and D A. R. of Onawa and also a Charter member of the Eastern Star in which Order she held prominent offices. She united with the Congregational Church early in life and was a faithful and active in the same being a member of the local church up until the time of her death.

Mrs. Pember leaves to mourn her death, 2 brothers, Fred and Charles Smith of Roseburg, Oregon, a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services were held from the Congregational Church Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. William Zabilka, pastor of the Methodist Church with the Barnard Funeral Director in charge. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery beside the body of her husband.
