WILLIAM H. CLARK DIES AT RODNEY

William Henry Clark was born July 24, 1847, at Scranton, Penn. and died November 2, 1932, at his home in Rodney, when three years of age, he moved with his parents to Lone Rock, Wisconsin. He came to Iowa in 1867 and settled near Smithland. A few years later he moved to a farm near Anthon where he made his home among the other early settlers.

In 1878 he was married to Elizabeth Batman. To this union two children, Edith and William were born. Both died in infancy. In 1902 Mr. Clark and wife moved to Rodney, la., where Mrs. Clark died in November 1906. In December 1906, Mr. Clark was united in marriage to Mrs. Julia Leach who survives.

He leaves a brother, C. D. Clark of Fullerton, Calif., a sister, Mrs. W. H. Lucas, of Smithland, nieces and nephews. He was a staunch pioneer, a true neighbor and possessed a friendship which will be remembered by all his friends through the years to come. He was particularly interested in the raising and educating of Mrs. Clark's grandson William J. Fouts, who came from college to help care for him in his last illness.

The funeral was held in the Rodney Congregational church Friday at 2.00 p. m. Rev. C. E. Stevens was the officiating minister and Fred J. Willman, undertaker. Appropriate songs were sung by Mrs. Eichorn, Mrs. Leonard Flynn and Geo. Juhl, Mrs. Lawrence Woodward at the piano. Interment was made in the family lot in the Correctionville cemetery.
