Onawa, Iowa—Cecil A Parrish, 93, of Onawa died Wednesday, March 29, 2000 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mr. Parrish was born April 15, 1906 in Rosalie, Neb., the son of George and Cora (Ray) Parrish. He attended country school near Rosalie and farmed with his father. He had lived in Thurston and Dakota Counties in Nebraska.

He married Helen (Demean) Dawes on Dec. 11, 1953 in Sioux City. The couple moved to Missouri and lived there until 1966, when they moved to Onawa. He was employed at the Monona County Fair Grounds in Onawa for over 20 years. He had been a resident of Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa for one year.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife; a foster daughter and her husband, Leila and Monte Bremer of Florence, Mo.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rolland and his wife, Vivian of Omaha and Lawrence of Sergeant Bluff; four sisters, Opal Roberts and Mable Kobernus, both of Sioux City and Emma and her husband, Darrell Bagley and Bessie Nelson, all of South Sioux City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elzy and Earl, and two Sisters, Iva Teeters and Barbara.
