31 December 2014Cameron Eugene Ward, age 9, of Castana, Iowa died unexpectedly on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, Iowa with Ministers Jeff Thelander and Tom Scott, officiating. Burial will be at the Kennebec Cemetery, rural Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. until service time Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Cameron Eugene Ward was born November 9, 2005 in Charleston, Illinois the son of Thomas Eugene and Ralinda Dee (Utterback) Ward. His family lived in Arcola, Illinois for six years before moving to the Castana, Iowa area. Cameron was currently in the third grade at Maple Valley Elementary School in Mapleton, Iowa. Cameron attended church and Sunday school at the Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, Iowa.
Cameron loved going to school, and never wanted to miss school, and even got mad when he lost his perfect attendance status.
Cameron loved going to church, he loved God and Jesus, and his church family, sharing a hug or a high five with many of them.
He loved to play. He loved his cars, coloring, and making cards and pictures for his family. He especially loved the hills behind his house, playing in the dirt with his siblings for hours. His favorite toys were his beloved Legos. He would sit and build such wonderful things. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. They were his life. It didn't matter what they were doing, as long as they were together. He was always giving hugs and kisses and "I Love You's" to all of them. This family was an extended one that loves him and will miss him.
Cameron leaves behind his loving parents, Thomas Eugene and Ralinda Dee Ward of Castana, IA; his loving sister, Cheyanne Ward and loving brother, Kyle Ward, both residing with their parents; his loving grandmother, JoAnn Utterback of Castana, IA; his other loving grandparents, Daniel (Connie) Ward of Homer, Illinois; his loving great-grandparents, Walter (Hazel) Heckler of Dix, Illinois; along with several aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles; and lots of cousins in Iowa and Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Leeland Utterback; his great-grandparents, Loren (Betty) Ward, Freeland (Henrietta) Utterback, and Perry "Jumbo" (Helen) Farley; and several great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.
