31 December 2014Joan M. Kirby, 75, of Whiting, Iowa died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Chaplain Jocquelyn "Jackie" Girdner, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Joan Marie was born August 20, 1939 in Arkansaw, Wisconsin the daughter of Marvin and Mildred (Iverson) Bien.
Joan attended high school in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She then graduated from beauty school in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and enjoyed working as a beautician. She was a kitchen aide at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa where she retired in 2004.
Joan loved to crochet and give her handiwork to others.
She is survived by her two daughters, Laura (Dave) Stoeklen of Whiting, Iowa and Kimberly Taylor of Reno, Nevada; grandchildren; Summer Lawrence, Bill Stoeklen, Misty Best, Mandy Stern, and Trey Taylor; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Bradley, Brandi, Peyton, Reese, Adina, Alissa, Colton, Brighton, Beckam, and Talen; one sister, Audrey Moldenhauer of Wilson, Wisconsin; and one brother, Ron (Bernie) Bien of Menomonie, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Mildred.
