Hold memorial services for MV 1968 graduate

Louis L. Green, age 52 of Omaha,. Nebraska, and formerly of Mapleton died Sunday, June 29,2003 in Omaha.

Memorial services were held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3 at St. Robert Bellarrmine Catholic Church in Omaha with Rev. Don Shane officiating Mike Milota gave the eulogy. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Mapleton with Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with military graveside honors by the American Legion Loren Hollister Post #496 of Mapleton.

Louis Leon Green was born November 7, 1950 in Mapleton, Iowa, the son of Scott and Berneice (Hupke) Green. He was raised in Mapleton and attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Maple Valley High School in 1968. He served his country in t he United States Air Force from October 1969 through August 1977. Louie was employed for many years with Payless Cashway Lumber yards in Missouri, Texas, Arizona and California. In March of 1989, Louis and his family moved back to Omaha, Nebraska where he was employed with Keystone Drugs. He later managed Z-Mart Convenience Store until he became medically disabled and retired.

Survivors include his mother, Berneice Green of Omaha, Nebraska; two sons, Anthony L. Green and Scott O. Green, both of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters and one brother and their spouses, Jeanette and Roger Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska, Beverly and Larry Koeppen of Gladstone, Missouri, and Leslie and Jean Green of Elkhorn, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephew and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Louis was preceded in death by his father, Scott J. Green; brother, Francis S. Green; grandparents, Scott A. and Ora (Lucas) Green and Frank H. and Helen (Ryan) Hupke.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Mapleton.
