Carol Ann Butler, 75, of Roseville, Illinois, formerly of Soldier, Iowa died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Roseville Rehab and Health Care in Roseville, Illinois.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Soldier Lutheran Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Carol Ann was born April 24, 1939 in Ute, Iowa the daughter of Charles Harry and Gladys Opal (Torgerson) Butler. She grew up with three brothers, Dean, Ronnie and Larry, and one sister, Norma. The family lived on farms near Castana and Soldier, Iowa. Carol attended school in Moorhead, Iowa where she graduated from East Monona High School, and later went to college at Wayne, Nebraska for one year.

Carol earned her living by working as a CNA in hospitals, nursing homes and senior centers from 1960 to 1998. After a stroke in 1998 she lived in a group home and care centers in Iowa and Illinois, the last being Roseville Rehabilitation and Health Care.

She enjoyed trips to the Black Hills, Colorado, and Wyoming. She also enjoyed collecting many eclectic items. In later years she was care giver for her mother.

Survivors include two brothers, Ronald Butler of LaBelle, FL and Larry Butler of Kansas City, KS; one sister, Norma (Terry) Carrico of Roseville, IL; two nieces, Kris (Dave) Butler-Mackmiller of St. Paul, MN, and Mona (Kurt) Douglas of Milo, IA; one nephew, Travis (Tara) Carrico of New Sharon, IA; one great-niece, Jenna Carrico of New Sharon, IA; and one great-nephew Kameron Douglas of Milo, IA.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys Butler; brother, Dean Butler; and great-nephew, Jace L. Carrico.

Carol will be greatly missed by all her family, and her friends and staff at Roseville Rehab and Health Care.
