27 November 2014Georgia I. Richards, 92, of Mapleton, Iowa went to be with the Lord on the afternoon of November 19, 2014 at her residence.
A memorial mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, Iowa with Father Daniel Greving, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Manly, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Georgia Irene was born February 24, 1922 at Mason City, Iowa the daughter of George and Carolina (Hrubetz) Wabschall.
Georgia was a small woman but always seemed taller as she raised two boys and her husband. She held various job positions outside her home over the years.
Her great passion, besides caring for others and her beloved Catholic Faith, were her dogs and her love for working with fabric, spinning wool, knitting, and weaving on a huge loom.
Georgia is survived by her two sons, Kevin Richards of Mapleton, Iowa, and Craig (Cecilia) Richards of Bellingham, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Forest Richards; and a sister, Nina Landt.
