Stanley Charles Mann 1944-2013

Stanley Charles Mann, son of Lloyd I. and Gladys L. (Seaman) Mann, was born November 6, 1944 in Moorhead, Iowa. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa at the age of 68.

Stan was raised and educated in Moorhead, Iowa and graduated from Moorhead High School with the Class of 1962. On September 12, 1962, Stan enlisted in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Coral Sea as an electronic technician until being honorably discharged in February of 1966.

On July 2, 1966, Stan was united in marriage to Joyce E. McFarland in Omaha, Nebraska and the couple raised three children: Lana, Brian and David.

Stan worked in Omaha for Northwestern Bell from 1966 to 1967. In 1967, Stan and Joyce moved to Dallas, Texas and he worked for Texas Instruments and then Raytheon Industries. Stan was a Senior Electronics Engineering Aide for both of these companies until retiring in June of 1999. After retiring, Stan and Joyce enjoyed fulltime RVing until 2009. In April of 2013, they moved to Onawa.

Stan enjoyed softball, soccer, electronic games and RVing. He always had a good sense of humor and enjoyed joking around.

Stan is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Mann of Onawa, IA; two sons: Brian Mann of Garland, TX and David Mann and wife Erica of Eugene, OR; son-in-law, Bobby Bosley of Santo, TX; seven grandchildren; seven siblings: Maureen Hedrick, Sandra Richardson, Nancy McCord, Debbie Polich, Mike Mann, Jeff Mann and Dennis Stranathan; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lana Bosley; two brothers: Bob Mann and Roger Mann; and one brother-in-law, Harold McCord.
