WHITING, Iowa | Rollin "Rollie" Metzger, 55, of Whiting died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, with the Rev. Jeff Thelander officiating. A private family burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery at Lincoln, Neb. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Rollie Ray Metzger was born July 14, 1959, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Vinton and Loraine (Hathorn) Metzger. He grew up in Lincoln and attended Lincoln High School.

Rollie worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, Design Homes, Tyson Foods, and was currently working for Schuster in Sioux City.

Rollie loved riding motorcycles and being involved with local biking functions and fundraisers. Rollie also loved the Lord and his Whiting Christian Church family.

Rollie is survived by his mother, Loraine Metzger of Lincoln, Neb.; four children, Mary Ann (Stewart) Peterson of Lincoln, Roleen (Jake) Green of Nashville, Tenn., Rollin Metzger Jr. of Lincoln, and Randy (Amanda) Metzger of Lincoln; grandchildren, Tobias Peterson, Evelyn Peterson, and one Peterson baby on the way; brother, Kim (JoAnne) Metzger of Lincoln; sister, Marcene (Dale) Sisel of Gillette, Wyo,; six nieces; and six nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vinton Metzger; and brother, Charles Metzger
