ONAWA, Iowa — Frances Koontz Larkin, 81, of Onawa died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Mrs. Larkin was born Dec. 1, 1917, on a farm near Hornick, Iowa, the daughter of George and Emma (Clayton) Koontz. She came to the Onawa community with her parents at the age of 2 and had resided there since. She attended Onawa public schools.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Onawa Cemetery with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. There will be no visitation. The Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa is in charge of arrangements.

She married C. Frank Larkin on March 6, 1941, at Rock Port, Mo.

She worked at various business places in Onawa and at one time the couple operated a small grocery store.

She was a member of First Christian Church and Burgess Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, John Larkin of Chicago; a daughter-in-law, Nadine Wickersham-Krull of Blue Earth, Minn.; a granddaughter, Debra Lacher; a grandson, Mark Wickersham; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Bill Wickersham; a sister, Beulah Koontz; and a brother, Merle Koontz.
