Clara L. Olson, 82, Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Onawa and Whiting, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, January 14, 1999, at her home.

Clara was born November 13, 1916, at Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Mabel (Russell) Foss. She grew up in Whiting and graduated from Whiting High School. On December 8,1935, she married Raymond N. Olson at Ponca, Nebraska. The couple moved to Onawa in 1936 where he owned and operated the Chevrolet-Olds Mobile dealership for 25 years. Mr. Olson died January 21, 1988, in Onawa. She was a member of the Onawa Congregational United Church of Christ.

Survivors include 2 daughters and their husbands, Cathleen and Paul Claussen of Dubuque, Iowa, and Patricia and Joe Dent of Rumeston, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Private Family Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 1999, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
