Agnes Mary (Smith) Wilson, 99, of Onawa, Iowa, died Sunday, June 21, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Agnes was born December 3, 1898, in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Edward T. and Anne Agnes (Ridley) Smith. She moved to Onawa with her family in 1908. Upon graduating from Onawa High School, she completed two years at Wayne State Teacher's College in Wayne, Nebraska. On August 16, 1940, she married Levi Wilson in Onawa, Iowa. The couple lived in Missouri for 4 years before returning to Onawa. Mr. Wilson died in 1944 in Willow Springs, Missouri. She taught until retiring in 1950.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include a niece and her husband, Winifred and Cecil Doty of Ricketts, Iowa; three nephews and their wives, Ronald and Victoria Davis, Richard and Sylvia Davis, and Robert and Ardith Davis, all of Onawa; several great nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Bernard Smith; and a sister, Nea Mae Davis.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at the Onawa Cemetery with Pastor David Montecuollo officiating.

Casket bearers were Kelly Davis, Bill Davis, Jim Kluver, Jeremy Doty, Joe Pauley and Donnie Lee Gray, Jr.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson funeral Horne, Onawa, Iowa.
