ONAWA, Iowa — Wilma A. Strider Karlson, 73, of Onawa died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at Burgess Memorial Health Center in Onawa.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mrs. Karlson was born Nov. 27, 1924, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of Willard and Virginia (Brandt) Holman. She graduated from St. Louis High School in St. Louis, Mo. She married Harold F. Strider Feb. 24, 1951, in St. Charles Mo. He died Feb. 9, 1968, in Kansas City. She lived in Auburn, Neb. and Elk Point, S.D. before moving to Onawa in 1960. She married Durward "Karl" Karlson on April 27, 1975, in Onawa. He died Nov. 12, 1986, in Onawa.

She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa.

Survivors include three daughters, Pam and her husband, Chuck Thompson, of Ellettsville, Ind., Vicki Bell of Clarkston, Ga., and Jean and her husband, Scott Kendall, of Onawa; seven grandchildren, Brent and Sarah Thompson, Matthew, Amanda, and Brad Alford Bell, and Joseph and Samantha Kendall; a great-grandson; three sisters and their husbands, Jean and William Armstrong, and Marilyn and Al Kuechler, all of St. Louis, and Karen and Duane Dennis of Cedar Hill Mo.

She was preceded in death by parents.

Memorials have been established in her name at Burgess Memorial Health Center and Faith Lutheran Church.
