ONAWA, Iowa — Clarence Moltsau, 93, of Onawa died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at the Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, with the Rev. Steven C. Hetzel officiating. Burial will be in Onawa City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Moltsau was born April 21, 1903, near Soldier, Iowa, the son of John A. and Olena (Bakke) Moltsau. He attended Star Country School in rural Soldier. He owned the Moltsau Garage in Onawa. He married Tracy Miller on Feb. 10, 1929, in Mapleton, Iowa. During World War II, he worked as an airline mechanic. The couple owned a restaurant in Woodbine and Moorhead, Iowa, before retiring to Onawa in 1969. He had been a resident of Elmwood Care Centre for one month.

He was a member of the Soldier Lutheran Church and the Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Elsie and Jim Kalskett of Moorhead, Iowa and Norma and Dr. Paul Byers of Wakefield, Neb.; a son, Wayne of Onawa; 11 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Loren; a brother, Herman; and a sister, Sadie Wilson Lear.
