ONAWA, Iowa — Emma "Tiny" Watson, 99, of Onawa died Sunday, May 11, 1997, at the Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, with the Rev. Randall Coffin officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Watson was born Oct. 14, 1897, in Washta, Iowa, the daughter of Joel and Mary Jane (Perry) Hayden. She graduated from Blencoe High School in Blencoe, Iowa, in 1914.

She married Francis Willard Watson on May 26, 1917, in Slayton, Minn. The couple moved to Onawa in 1921. He died June 28, 1965, in Onawa.

She was employed as a waitress for Fout's Cafe and Dent's Cafe in Onawa, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Onawa, where she was active in the women's organizations. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include a son, Willard "Bill" of Upper Black Eddy, Penn.; a daughter, Jane Watson of Onawa; two grandchildren, Marcia Brennan and Michael Watson; a daughter-in-law, Harriet (Rude) Watson of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon; a daughter, Frances Mary in infancy and several brothers and sisters.
